Dr. Black received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders as well as her Doctor of Audiology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC). She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She has received the Survivor Award from the TTUHSC Department of Audiology. Arica’s interest in speech and hearing began early in life. Her sister was diagnosed with multiple disabilities including a severe language disorder. Arica became an advocate for the speech and hearing impaired before she began grade school. She set her focus towards her current career path while still in high school. Her other interests include teaching fitness classes and spending time with her husband Trent and sons Mason and Barrett.
